Where do you have internship placement?
MSBA participants will be placed in highly respected organizations with offices in NYC. Our internship partner organizations include prominent companies in Television, PR and Media, Sports Franchises, and Facilities.
How will internship placement work?
Click here. Within the application, you will select your top three sports business areas of concentration. Applicants that make it to the final round of the admissions process will partake in a final interview with the MSBA team, and in some cases with partnership organizations. Final internship placements will be revealed to participants by email no later than one week prior to the commencement of the program.
Are the internships paid?
At MSBA, we are providing participants with the opportunity of a lifetime by giving them networking opportunities and a "foot in the door" into the sports industry, which is one of the hardest to penetrate. As a result of the level of competition to get internships within organizations in the sports industry, there is typically no payment. However, an intern that works hard and impresses will get the right attention and be one step closer to their final goal, which is achieving a full-time, paying job after graduation.
What is MSBA's program tuition?
Tuition for Summer 2013 is $10,000 and includes housing, transportation, group outings, and more during the eight-week program. Please note housing is optional and Tuition minus housing is $8,000. Financial aid is very limited and determined on a case-by-case basis as part of the interview process.
When is the application deadline?
The MSBA Summer 2013 application deadline is February 28, 2013 at 11:59:59pm EST.
When will I know if I have been accepted into MSBA?
Candidates will be informed whether they have made it to the interview stage of the application process by March 1st, 2013. Accepted candidates into the Summer 2013 MSBA program will be notified by April 1st, 2013.
When does MSBA begin?
Move-in day for participants is Sunday June 2nd, 2013. A program and internship tutorial will be held on Sunday, June 2nd, which will include how to maneuver around the NYC subway system.
What can I do if I am not done with school by the start of the program?
MSBA is an 8-week program that commences on June 2nd, 2013. However, we understand that some university schedules do run into the beginning of June and we are therefore able to accommodate late arrivals with advance notice and coordination.
Do I have to find my own housing/living accommodations and daily transportation?
MSBA is a full service program that includes living accommodations in local university housing during the 8-week program, as well as transportation. Students are equipped with an Unlimited Ride MetroCard (subways and buses) for easy transport around New York City.
Who is eligible to participate?
Undergraduate and graduate college students & young professionals who want to gain invaluable experience in the sports industry and get a jump start into the fast paced, high energy sports business world through internships, mentoring and networking.
Can I receive course credit from my university for participation in MSBA?
Yes, you can receive course credit. However, it is not mandatory to do so in order to become a participant in MSBA.
Is MSBA an accredited university?
No, MSBA is not an accredited university or affiliated with any accredited university program.
